When it comes to my makeup, I don't stick to one single routine. I love changing up my eyeshadow look, rotating between palettes, and switching up liquid and powder products. However, one aspect that will always remain the same: No heavy foundations. In the world of makeup, there's nothing I can't stand more than a cakey, heavy-feeling base. This leaves a perfect spot for a cc cream in my routine.

What is CC Cream?

Did you know, CC cream stands for color-correct. According to It Cosmetics, "CC Cream is a multitasking makeup and skincare product that works to color-correct, moisturize, and protect your skin." Think of it as a perfect potion that gives you the coverage and blurred look of a foundation with the hydration and protection of skincare. Truly, the best of both worlds. CC creams typically have a barely-there feel with a light to medium coverage that's buildable depending on the product.

As someone who isn't a fan of of heavy, cakey foundations, a cc cream fills in that sweet spot. It's ideal for days I want a little extra coverage, but don't want to feel l like I'm wearing makeup.

Blown. Away. I know, sounds dramatic, but that was truly the first thought I had after swiping the product on. I started by applying the Benefit POREfessional Primer to create a smooth base. Next, I followed up with the e.l.f Cosmetics Camo CC Cream in the shade . When blending it in with my hands -- I know, one of makeup's biggest faux pas -- I was shook by how well the cc cream seamlessly melted into my skin. Its light coverage evened out my complexion and disguised unwanted redness. The product is buildable, so you could work it up to a medium coverage if needed. Most importantly: Zero cakeiness.

One of my favorite aspects of the cc cream was the satin finish. This product felt like a. second skin. The coverage tackled any redness and blemishes, but still allowed enough of my skin to show through, leaving me with a slightly dewy base. AKA, my favorite natural-looking finish a base product can offer. I love how easily the rest of my products blended into the cc cream. I finished my face makeup by applying Tarte Shape Tape Concealer under my eyes, a cream blush, Rare Beauty Liquid Luminizer, and Bare Minerals Mineral Veil Powder.

Before and After

Practically any makeup look can look flawless right after application, so I knew I had to see how the cc ream lasted throughout the day.

Starting bare-faced, I wanted to cover up redness and give my skin an all-around smoother, blurred look. I felt like the product did exactly that. After a full day of working and running errands, I honestly can't complain--it stayed put! The biggest difference I noticed at the end of the day was the increased shininess in my t-zone, but as any fellow oily girl knows, this is pretty much inevitable without a powder touch up.

The internet crowned this product as as dupe for the It Cosmetics CC Cream. I was a little skeptical at first, but I can confidently say the internet was right about this!

Final Thoughts

It's safe to say, I'm truly impressed by this cc cream. I love the finish, coverage, and how lightweight it is. It fits extremely well with my daily makeup. Since buying the cc cream, it's earned a spot in my daily makeup rotation.
